AGATON/LINGLING EMERGENCY RESPONSE UPDATE NO. 2

This afternoon, the Balay Mindanaw Emergency Response has been activated. As rains brought by Tropical Depression Agaton have been pouring over many parts of Mindanao on-and-off for more than a week, the threat of floods and landslides became very real. We have first reached out to our own staff, family and friends who live in low-lying communities in Cagayan de Oro by offering our Peace Center as an evacuation center. A survivor from Typhoon Storm Pablo in Dec 4, 2012, Aurel Ignacio, 30 yrs. old,  joined the “Hollowblock Making Production” in July this year, 7 months after the typhoon devastated their homes, livelihood and the whole of Bagangga and neighboring towns.
