It’s been ten days after the Supertyphoon Haiyan/Yolanda seriously hit the Eastern and Central Visayas, and yet severely affected communities in remote places in Leyte and Panay Island have yet to be provided with necessary emergency assistance. The total shutdown of communications and infrastructure in worst-hit areas may have hindered the speedy rescue and relief operations, taking into account the massive scale and magnitude of the destructions and deaths.
