As Pastor Toto Baconga leads the blessing of the water refilling station, Balay Mindanaw Group of NGOs officially opens another venture to serve and help sustain the work it started nearly 18 years ago. ‘Tubig Mindanaw’, as staff fondly calls it, is a product of Balay Mindanaw’s contract with Top Water Inc. which owns and produces this alkaline water

Top Water Inc. has been manufacturing alkaline water for 2 years now. Alkaline water holds ionic minerals which are not found in any kind of water including mineral water, distilled water, water drawn directly from indoor plumbing. According to studies, alkaline water helps hydrate our bodies by neutralizing acids and toxins massed up inside our bodies. Thus, it helps the body maintain normal blood flow and acid-alkaline balance.

This new water refilling station is now filtering Balay Mindanaw’s tap water with .01 ultra-filtering technology and then increases its alkalinity to the healthy pH of 9.5.

Aside from serving its peace center and the neighborhood in its new location in Barangay Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City, this water has also been serving the survivors of the Bohol earthquake and Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan in Ormoc and Panay Island in the Visayas Region.

Balay Mindanaw is thankful for this project as a continuing reminder to every disaster responder, survivor, conflict manager, care giver and peace builder: We refuse to be victims. We choose to be resources!

Balay Mindanaw would like to specially thank Architect Ed Daang for bringing to the station his unique, contemporary design.
