With the magnitude of devastation, displacements and death brought about by Super Typhoon Yolanda, Balay Mindanaw is once again moved to respond and alerted to appeal for support for the communities who are severely affected by the tragedy in the Visayas. While we still have our team in Bohol who is currently doing relief operations and providing shelter repair kits to earthquake-affected municipalities of Antequera and Loon (our focus areas), two teams left today, one for Samar-Leyte and another for Panay – to conduct on-the-ground quick assessment to help determine and formulate appropriate response. Water, food, shelter and medicines are immediate priorities.
