URGENT CALL TO THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT!<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are a small Mindanao-based NGO trying to give our humble share in response to
\nthe devastation brought by Typhoon Pablo. We have decided to focus our efforts
\nand resources to one (Barangay Ban-o, Baganga, Davao Oriental) of the 42
\nbarangays. After more than two weeks on the ground, we wish to share our
\nobservations, and bring to your attention the very dire situation in Baganga,
\nDavao Oriental.<\/p>\n

The massive devastation requires immediate well-coordinated response from
\ngovernment (particularly the National Government) and all sectors. While there
\nhas been tremendous outpouring of goodwill and generosity, much is still desired
\nmore than two weeks after the disaster.<\/p>\n

We issue this very urgent call to:<\/p>\n

1. The National Government, especially DPWH, AFP Engineering, etc. to
\nimmediately mobilize all available resources particularly heavy equipment to
\nsupplement the equipment already on the ground;
\n2. The neigboring local government units to send their equipment, facilities and
\nhuman resources to help in the clearing and cleaning up operations;
\n3. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to immediately send teams to
\nmonitor and control the prices of basic commodities especially fuel prices that
\nhave increased more than 100%.<\/p>\n
