Dear Friends and Partners,<\/span><\/p>\n

Once again, we are called to show our concern, care and concrete accompaniment to the people and communities affected by the magnitude 7.2 earthquake that hit Bohol, Cebu, Siquijor and other places in Visayas and Mindanaw. As the extent of devastation gets clearer, we begin to realize the urgency of the need to respond to the situation. Our local contacts have indicated the pressing need for food, water, shelter, medical care, among others.<\/p>\n

Balay Mindanaw will once again respond to this call. Our Disaster Response Team will leave for Bohol today to conduct on-the-ground assessment, link with local communities and institutions, and determine our appropriate response based on actual needs and our capacities and resources.<\/p>\n

International partners like Johanniter in Germany and Disaster Aid International (DAI) have immediately offered their very concrete support. We also have been receiving messages from old friends and partners again offering their kind and generous support.<\/p>\n
