Balay Mindanaw chosen as finalist in 6th RAFI Triennial Awards

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—Balay Mindanaw Foundation, Inc. (BMFI) has been chosen as one of the finalists in the 6th Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (RAFI) Triennial Awards for the Visayas and Mindanao.

“After months of careful screening, validation, and interviews, the finalists have finally been selected by the 6th RAFI Triennial Awards Search Committee, an independent, multi-sectoral group. In this connection, we are pleased to inform you that you have been selected as one of the finalists to the 6th RAFI Triennial Awards!” said Elisabeth Baumgart, program officer of the 6th RAFI Triennial Awards for RAFI-EADSC in her email to BMFI President and Pioneer Kaloy Manlupig and BMFI Executive Director Bibing Mordeno.

“Daghang salamat sa kadungganan ug sa inspirasyon,” Manlupig said in response.

The 6th RAFI Triennial Awards for the Ramon Aboitiz Award for Exemplary Individual and the Eduardo Aboitiz Award for Outstanding Institution is conferred every three years to honor men, women and organization who, through their efforts and selfless commitment, bring about change in the lives of the less privileged in various groups and communities in the Philippines.

The RAFI Triennial Awards for the Visayas and Mindanao recognizes individuals and institutions which helped build a more humane, equitable and caring society.

The Ramon Aboitiz Award for Exemplary Individual honors a natural-born or naturalized Filipino citizens, at least 30 years old and of good moral character whose dedication to their profession has made significant contributions to the advancement of the well-bring of fellow Filipinos.

The Eduardo Aboitiz Award for Outstanding Institution honors institutions or organizations which have been established for at least three years, with functional programs and work with other groups in bringing about comprehensive and responsible development.

“The awards honor the men and women who, through their efforts bring about change and improve the lives of the less-privilege reflect the philanthropic, humanitarian and holistic ideals and values of Don Ramon Aboitiz and Don Eduardo Aboitiz. We hope and trust that this recognition will further inspire you in serving others,” Baumgart said.

The 6th RAFI Triennial Awards recognize BMFI’s efforts in bringing peace, equity and development to its partner communities in Mindanao and the Visayas through its various programs and projects.

RAFI received a total of 295 nominations for the 6th run of the Triennial Awards. Ninety-seven of these nominations are for the Outstanding Institution category while 198 are for the Exemplary Iindividual category. (Bong D. Fabe)
