| An old
evacuee in Barangay Kauswagan ponders
about her future. |
Despite the rains and the
not-so-pleasant weather yesterday, volunteers and resources kept on
coming. Indeed, so much goodwill and generosity exist in this world.
The focus of the efforts here
has significantly shifted to the distribution of non-food items,
provision of shelter, and trauma healing.
Balay Mindanaw sits in the
Executive Committee of the CdO Relief Operations Body Co-Chaired by
the DSWD-10 Regional Director and Archbishop Antonio Ledesma, and
Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCCM) cluster.
The efforts to assist the
survivors in rebuilding their homes have gotten a big boost from the
offer of Xavier University to donate 5 hectares of land in Lumbia as
a relocation site.
This morning, we have
distributed 89 pieces of blankets, 89 sets of clothings, 268 bottles
1.5L water, 15 boxes of high energy biscuits in Bulao, Barangay
Iponan. This afternoon, we will distribute 153 bottles 1.5L water,
51 sets of clothings and 15 boxes of high energy biscuits in
Barangay Bulua.
We also offered a modest
quantity of relief goods for the employees (and families) of the
Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR-10) who survived the floods.
Generous offers of support
continue to come. As of today, we have received a total of
P670,121.57 cash donations and pledges of P2,615,530.00. Non-cash
items like clothings, blankets, mats, pillows, shoes, toys, and
other items also continue to arrive.
The latest batch of goods
that arrived:
- 306 packs of non-food
items ready for distribution
- 168 boxes of high energy
biscuits from World Food Program
- Drinking water from World
Food Program
- 4,728 bottles 1.5 liters

Again, we continue to express
our deepest gratitude to you and your kind hearts.
