Volunteers from PARFund help in the repacking of relief goods

Volunteers and staff are beginning to return to the Operations Center to resume work as resources.

While most of the staff and volunteers joined their respective families and friends on December 24 and 25, some opted to stay and accompany the families of Ayi and Belle, Richard and Amor, Flong as they celebrated Christmas at the BM Peace Center.

On December 24, we assisted the World Food Program in gathering data of children ages 6 months to 5 years old who are targeted as recipients of their supplementary food assistance or plumpy 'doz in our focused evacuation centers. They provided 2 bottles of plumpy 'doz each for 215 children in the evacuation center in Brgy. Kauswagan. This type of food supplement is already complete in terms of nutrients needed and is ready to eat. The two bottles are good for 2 weeks.

On December 25, we provided an additional 7 trays of fresh eggs and 15 packs of BM food assistance package to the community kitchen of Brgy. Kauswagan.

Balay Mindanaw also sits in the Executive Committee of the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCCM) which coordinates the entire relief operations in Cagayan de Oro City.

Today, we will be preparing for immediate distribution at least 300 new relief assistance packages with each pack containing 5 pieces of toothbrush, 2 double-pack sachets of toothpaste, 2 bars of bathing soap, 5 pairs of rubber slippers, 4 pairs of male underwear, 6 pairs of female underwear and a pack of sanitary napkin. Each package costs P400.00 or approximately USD10.

Meanwhile, generous offers of support continue to come. As of today, cash donations received have reached P527,275.44 and cash pledges of P2.6M. Non-cash items like clothings, blankets, mats, pillows, shoes, toys, and other items also continue to pour in.

Again, we continue to express our deepest gratitude to you and your kind hearts.

We refuse to be victims. We are resources.
