Packing non-food Items at Balay Mindanaw

We refuse to be victims.  We are resources.

We continue our modest efforts to respond to the needs identified in the community centers which have shifted to non-food items since there is already enough supply of food items that will last until the end of the year.

Yesterday, we were able to serve a total of 366 families (or 1,830 individual) in two community centers (Canitoan and Bonbon). We distributed the Balay Mindanaw Relief Assistance Package or hygiene set containing items for the whole family such as male and female underwear, toothbrush, toothpaste, bathing soap, slippers and sanitary napkin. These items, along with high energy biscuits, drinking water and set of clothings, were distributed to a total of 236 affected families (or 1180 individuals) in Barangays Canitoan and Bonbon. We also distributed high energy biscuits and drinking water to additional 130 affected families (or 650 individuals) in Brgy. Canitoan.

Today, hygiene sets for 328 families will be distributed in the community centers in Kauswagan, Iponan, and Bulua. An Expressive Therapy session was also conducted by volunteers coming from Ateneo de Davao University for the affected families who are staying at the Balay Mindanaw Community Center.

Messages of support and inspiration, and donations continue to come from all over the world.
